A Poem for My Homeland

I dream a dream
That one day my love
Your weather would make up its mind
Instead of 37 degrees at eight and torrential downpours at nine

I dream a dream
That one day my love
Your public toilets would stop smelling like Satan's farts
Only then I can breathe in peace while I produce art

I dream a dream
That one day my love
All the kiasu people would just go away into the Sun
Make it snappy before i have to kill someone

I dream a dream
That one day my love
People would stop referring you as 'that country with the planes'
When you have much more to offer, I don't have to refrain

I dream a dream
That one day my love
The food here remains as it is, plentiful and cheap
Makan all the time from morning till sleep

I dream a dream
That one day my love
I would stop running out of rhymes
To not justify your beauty in poetry is a crime

Don't feel down when you think there's something you lack
Hear me dear homeland
That no matter what we will always have your back
All 30 million of us, forever till the end.
